Rented House
Most recent cakes

This cake was created as a surprise for my co-worker's 30th birthday, but of course we presented it as her "21st". She gave a stern warning that we better not do any black or over the hill things or it might send her into a bad mental state! This was the first time I made a chocolate chip cake and it went over very well! This was also the first cake I brought into work and have since had my co-workers ask for cakes every few weeks. In fact, a week from Friday has been declared "Bring cake to work for Erica" day (However, she really just wants icing and marshmallow fondant--maybe I will just bring her a bowl of each).

Although the flowers are silk and there is only "fake cake" under all that yummy fondant, this cake looks great. I created this dummy cake to show at a table for a community event, aimed toward horse enthusiasts. I think it looks very classy.

So, I can't do anything in a simple manner. I was asked to create a cake for a Christmas party at our church. Instead, I created three! This display made a great centerpiece for all the yummy food we had.

I had only minimal direction on this cake, use these colors and make it small. I had a real problem with the second part of this instruction, as you can tell by all the other cakes. However, I was very pleased with the final cake. It was ready several hours before pickup and it was all the I could do to not cut into it. The smell filling the house was great!
I have had a lot of fun over the past few months creating these cakes, both as gifts and as a little side money opportunity. However, I am very happy for the upcoming holidays. I need a break! I am already booking up for January however..... :)

Grill cake

I made this cake for my father's birthday. Everything is edible, except for the bars in the grill rack, which are painted with edible silver paint. I was very impressed with my fondant hot dogs!

Diaper Cakes

I also create diaper cakes (they are less messy!). This one was for a shower I hosted last summer. It is very simple, but I can create very elaborate ones. I also created smaller versions to complement the larger cake to use as additional decorations and centerpieces for the tables.

All buttercream, these clowns make a great addition to any child's party or for the young at heart.

This cake is covered in fondant, with a cascade of roses down the side of each tier. The roses are made of fondant, in three sizes, with varying shades of peach. The largest roses are the darkest, while the rose buds are the lightest.

This cute gift cake is also covered in fondant, with a fondant bow and accents.

This was made for a man's 21st birthday. He loves fishing at the lake. The cake is covered in buttercream, with a piping gel lake and fondant features.
